Square Footage: 8700
Design Firm: Kieding Architecture
Designer: Katie Winter
Working with Katie Winter and the Kieding Design Team the large public lobby of the Independence Plaza received a much needed refresh, beyond just placing new furniture in the building. The Class A 1972 building located at 1050 17th Street in Downtown Denver features 25 floors of offices, retail and restaurants accessible from the popular 16th Street Mall. The lobby was not an inviting space that tenants or visitors would want to utilize.
Kieding’s design team worked Design Resource Group for over a year on the furniture and finish selections to make sure the end result would be exciting and enticing to the future of the building. The lobby’s central elevator used to feature a water element and now is a bright focal point encased in glass with LED strip lighting. Featured furniture on this project are from Grove slab tables from Darran, Rowen lounge from OFS, Achella Modular lounge from Arcadia, Hendron lounge from JSI, Norma guest and barstools from Arper, and Circo tables from Cumberland.
